Al Pena was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, grew up in Miami, Fl, and moved with his family to the Bronx, NY where he attended A.E. Smith Vocational High School.
He returned to Puerto Rico in 1976 where he studied banking and finance, and became fluent in Spanish. In 1981, Al married and started a family. Following in the footsteps of his Dad, and brother, who was a US Customs Agent, Al became a Port Authority Law Enforcement Officer.
In 1989, Al moved his family to Deltona, Fl. He also changed careers and ventured into the mortgage banking field, where he became a broker. He went on to open his own mortage brokerage where he originated loans for some of the largest lenders in the U.S. including Chase and Countrywide.
With the decline of the mortage industry in 2008, Al made a natural transition into real estate. Al obtained his license, and, a short time later joined Exit Realty of Daytona as a Realtor, where he has prospered. Al had gross sales of $1.5 million in 2011. He hopes to double that for 2012.
Al is experienced in both the mortgage and real estate fields, as well as fluent in English and Spanish. He is a versatile professional who is eager, and, willling to help you in buying, selling or financing real estate.
