Florida Luxury Homes For Sale /
Two of our wonderful beach homes are located in a quiet residential area known as Wilbur-By-The-Sea, a traffic-free section of Daytona Beach where no driving is permitted due to the protected sand dunes which provide a natural nesting habitat for our native sea turtles. The beach consists of approximately 100 yards of soft, white, rock-free sand, and each new day provides a unique view of the glittering ocean. A few minutes' walk away is Boondock's restaurant, where you can dock your boat and stop in for fish and chips (or any of their other fresh seafood dishes). Within minutes' drive is Racing's North Turn restaurant, which in the early days of motorsports served as the turning point for the Daytona 500. There you can indulge in fresh seafood on the oceanfront dining patio as the live band plays. The nearby town of Ponce Inlet is home to another marina eatery called Inlet Harbor Restaurant, which also offers fresh seafood and live band entertainment. Charming Ponce Inlet is also the location of the tallest working lighthouse in Florida (second-tallest in America).
Just ten minutes away is downtown Daytona Beach, which offers all the activities of a resort town and all the culture of a metro without the rush and bustle of the big city. Water-oriented sports abound, including swimming, SCUBA diving, surfing, water-skiing, fishing, and windsurfing, as well as land sports like golf, tennis, horseback riding, volleyball, and skating. Rentals are available for kayaks, motorboats, paddleboats, sailboats, mopeds, and bicycles. Miniature golf, go-carting, bowling, and a local water park are perfect for families.
Walking and bus city tours, cruises, swamp tours, and helicopter rides provide ample opportunity to explore the many aspects of Daytona Beach, including the historic district full of antique shops and specialty boutiques. Museums, professional theater, gardens, local crafts, and live concerts bring culture to the area, with plenty of bars, clubs, and casino gambling available for nighttime enjoyment. Dining ranges from beachside sandwich shops to exquisite European bistros.
All these activities, as well as annual events such as Spring Break, races, and Bike Week & Biketoberfest, are close enough to enjoy on a daily basis for those who wish to do so. However, as a residential neighborhood, Wilbur-By-The-Sea is set back from the tourist sections of the region and will provide a calming home-away-from-home atmosphere after a day of fun and excitement, free from commotion and crowds.
